ALBERTO'S FUND – HOORAY – THE CAR HAS BEEN DELIVERED

ALBERTO FUND UPDATE

THE VEHICLE HAS ARRIVED

Alberto’s family are happy to receive the specially adapted car that the many contributors in Javea have helped towards including The Original Charity Shop and Library. In the near future there will be a celebration but in the meantime here are some photographs.

The mammoth task has finally been achieved and Alberto has been to Ford to order his new adapted wheels !

He got so excited when we let him pick out his favorite colour “BLUE”
The van is currently in the manufacturing process and will soon be delivered to the Specialist Ford adaptation plant in Barcelona.
We will post an update in a few weeks when we have a final delivery date.

As always thank you to everyone that made this possible we could not have done it without your on going help and support.

29KM – 15 X JAVEA MIRADORS – SUNDAY 3RD APRIL

Alberto is 10 years old, he has a severe neuro-muscular disease. Last year he was been desperately ill and in hospital for two months in Valencia La Fe, undergoing open lung surgery. He is unable to control his body, has poor muscle tone and very little strength, even unable to control his head. He is fed by machine pump through a tube into his tummy as he lacks strength to swallow and chew. He is wheel chair bound and totally dependent on his mummy.

He desperately needs an adapted car to keep mobile to able to attend school and the therapy sessions and the many specialist appointments in Valencia and Alicante. He is getting heavier and taller and getting him and his very heavy wheelchair in and out of the car has become an almost impossible task. On one salary and the high costs of his medicines and his special tube milk, of which not all are covered by the social security, his parents barely make ends meet.

Alberto’s amazing mummy, in trying to help him and many others, set up the Ludai Centro de Atención Temprano 2008. Ludai is a self referral early attention centre for special needs children in Denia and the Marina Alta area. This work is/was unpaid non lucrative work. Many children have been helped by Alberto and his mum. Now they need our help.

The aim is to seek a second hand adapted car for this little boy so please support our walkers in their MIRADOR CHALLENGE!!
