AUDREY SIMPSON RIP
AUDREY SIMPSON
1921 – 2015
GOODBYE FROM
THE ORIGINAL CHARITY SHOP AND LIBRARY, JAVEA
With much regret we have to inform you that Audrey passed away on Friday, 28th August, aged 93 years. Audrey was a volunteer for The Original Charity Shop and Library for more than 23 years and worked as cashier on Wednesdays and Saturdays until just a few weeks ago.
She was born in London and grew up and worked in various parts of England before coming to Spain. During the war she was a driver and she also did some modelling before deciding on the restaurant business. She spent 14 years on the island of Lanzarote where she ran two restaurants (even entertaining Omar Sharif on one occasion), before settling in Javea where she ran the El Horno restaurant until she retired.
Rest in Peace Audrey and thank you from staff and customers for the hard work put in over the years, we will all miss you very much.
Here are some messaged following the announcement.

Auch dear, We are so very, very sorry to read this. I loved her “gung-ho” attitude and we will miss her so much when we call in. Just so shocked. At 93, people will say that she had “good innings” but I say to get that far, she deserved certainly many more. Rest in peace darling Audrey. You will be missed by all of us…..”the customers”.
Eamonn…xxx
RIP Audrey was a pleasure to have known you.

I am very sorry of the death of Audrey Simpson. I really quiet enjoyed talking to her or commenting whatever when I drop into the shop and meet her, specially because of her very characteristic sense of humour.
Rest in peace, Audrey.
Kind regards.
