CHRISTMAS RAFFLE 2012
Raffle tickets are now on sale in the Charity Shop and Library for this year´s Christmas Raffle Only 3 euros for 5 opportunities to win a great array of prizes, FlatScreen TV, Hampers, drinks, meal vouchers and many, many more. All proceeds will go towards buying presents for the children at Raquel Paya School in Denia and will also help the needy through Caritas.

RACE NIGHT
The Gandia Area Social Club, together with the Unstable lads, put on another excellent Race Night Evening at Viva Espana on behalf of the Transformer Appeal – their efforts raised a brilliant 860.50 euros and a fun evening was had by all 150 people that attended. This fantastic Jubilee cake was donated by Mavis Taylor from SPAMA. The cake was won by Linda Carden who donated it to a Jubilee event taking place on 5th June.

BE NICE CHARITY WALK
The Be Nice Charity Walk on behalf of The Franciscan Refuge Transformer Appeal and Caritas took place on Sunday, 6th May. A total of 33 walkers took part and raised a fantastic 1,554 euros – special thanks to Jan Allenby with the highest sponsorship amount of 200 euros.

EASTER MARKET BALCON AL MAR
Once again we took part in the Easter market at Balcon al Mar in Javea. It was a very successful day, we made over 467 euros towards the Franciscan Refuge Transformer Appeal.

Our Fashion Show was a resounding success – thank you to all who came to see our selection of summer/spring clothes.

90th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Audrey, a regular cashier in the shop, celebrates her 90th birthday, and still going strong.

TRANSFORMER APPEAL FUNDRAISER
Fund Raiser on behalf of the Franciscan Refuge TRANSFORMER APPEAL A fun evening was had by all at the La Drova home of John and Chrissy Wilson to celebrate St. Andrews Night. All guests were asked to wear blue and white. Our hosts prepared a traditional Scottish meal of soup, haggis, neeps and tatties followed by a delicious raspberry and cream dessert. Prior to the meal there was a quick quiz to discover who knew what about ‘All things Scottish’. Once the meal was over there was Scottish country dancing, a sing song and then an auction. BRITISH LEGION
For the last three years the Original Charity Shop and Library has donated 500 euros for Margo Gunn to take part in the British Legion sponsored walk. Here is a photo of Margo and staff of the shop with a cup she has received for collecting the highest amount of donations.
