From Monday 14th March we will be taking items in again for sale on commission but will only take clothes and items that are suitable for the spring/summer.

I want to sing the praises of the Charity Library in Javea Park. It’s the best 30 euros I spend each year – thousands of English language books to choose from. This week they excelled – last Saturday I asked for “the Night Mangager” by John Le Carre and on Friday I had a telephone message that the book was waiting for me. How’s that for a service? And I always enjoy the discussions about books and the recommendations from the knowledgable and friendly volunteers. The Original Charity Shop and Library can look back on another successful year with almost 36,000€ donated to worthy causes. Caritas, the Franciscan Refuge, the Raquel Paya school for special needs children, the Red Cross ‘Ambulancia para Javea’ appeal, the Royal British Legion and Javea Insalud were among those who received much needed funds. The Charity Shop and Library Raffle raises money for the gifts for over 60 children at Raquel Paya Special School in Denia, we were also able to donate a medical storage fridge for the nurse’s room and two ipads for speech therapy.
